SEPANG, 19 December 2016 – With 2016 drawing to a close, Sepang International Circuit (SIC) once again became the weekend destination of choice yesterday, with both the final Motorsport Free Morning event of the year and the inaugural SIC International Individual Time Trial drawing fitness enthusiasts as well as passionate cyclists to the circuit.

Sepang, 15 December 2016 – Professional cyclists from Malaysia and around the region will be among 105 passionate cyclists of all ages and classifications attempting to chart a new speed record at Sepang International Circuit (SIC) this Sunday, 18 December 2016. The 2016 SIC International Individual Time Trial, organised by Bike Tech Subang Sdn Bhd, will see the cyclists attempting to record the fastest single lap achieved on a bicycle on the 5.543km track in Sepang. The time trial event, taking place from 1100am to 100pm, is immediately preceded by the last Motorsport Free Morning session for 2016, scheduled from 700am to 1000am on Sunday.

SEPANG, 14 October 2016 – Sepang International Circuit (SIC) welcomes the appointment of Tan Sri Mohamed Azman Yahya as the non-executive Chairman of SIC. The appointment of Tan Sri Azman for a period of three years was announced by the Ministry of Finance today. Tan Sri Azman has served as a member of SIC’s Board of Directors since 2010.

SEPANG, 13 October 2016 – Sepang International Circuit (SIC) Chairman Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir has resigned from the Board of Directors effective immediately, after serving 13 years since 2003.

GEMAS, 27 August 2016 – The old adage - you never know till you ask, has proved true for the Principal of SMK Gemas in Negeri Sembilan. In March this year, Puan Siti A’isyah Sandra Abdullah wrote in to Sepang International Circuit to ask for the SIC Zoomers to make an appearance to raise funds at the school’s Carnival Day this year.

Referring to reports that Sepang International Circuit (SIC) recently faced issues with water seepage on the track during a test session, the matter is currently under investigation. SIC is working with track design firm Dromo, which was involved in the recent track resurfacing, and our track maintenance contractor Nippon Road (M) Sdn Bhd, to investigate the cause and to ensure that such a situation does not recur.

Litar Antarabangsa Sepang (SIC) terpaksa mengeluarkan perlumbaan kereta Drag Battle Series bagi edisi 2016 daripada kalendar SIC untuk memastikan keselamatan pelumba dan supaya litar perlumbaan berada dalam keadaan baik selepas kerja-kerja pembaikan trek dijalankan baru-baru ini. Perlumbaan yang telah bermula sejak 2003 merupakan satu-satunya acara drag yang menggunakan litar lumba, selepas dipersetujui Persatuan Automobil Malaysia (AAM).

The ever-popular Sepang Drag Battle series that first debuted in 2003 will not be taking place this year. The national championship, which is the only drag race held at a racing circuit and sanctioned by the Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM), has been removed from Sepang International Circuit (SIC)’s 2016 calendar, as SIC has stopped drag races on the newly resurfaced track for safety reasons.

SEPANG, 4 May 2016 – Sepang International Circuit (SIC) today announced a one-year partnership with Sunway Education Group, which will see students getting a first-hand experience of the state-of-the-art circuit during international events such as the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship 2016, 2016 Formula 1 Malaysia Grand Prix and Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix 2016.
