Date: 12th June 2014
Location: Orang Asli Village, Chamang, Bentong, Pahang
On 12th June, SIC has organised an activity with the Orang Asli Community in Chamang Bentong. All employees including the CEO, Dato’ Razlan Razali participated in the activity to reach out to the Orang Asli community and contribute to help the indigenous society. SIC believes that even though the community lives far from the developing cities of Malaysia, they shouldn’t be left behind.
SIC contributed basic food products and distributed to each family in the community by the SIC CEO, Dato’ Razlan.
Other than that, SIC employees worked together to build a traditional Orang Asli house made out of bamboo and nipah leaves. Besides lending a helping hand for the community to add more value to their daily lives, the employees also gained a fruitful experience and learning to build something from scratch thus improving the teamwork.
A wonderful great experience were gained that day which they’ve learnt how to make traditional crafts such as weaving hats, baskets and other beautiful crafts using palm leaves.
With this experience, SIC hopes that these type of activities would be continued in the near future since it benefits everyone including the company and also the community. Feedbacks from the employees was positive and overwhelming, they say that it was a good opportunity to learn about other societies culture and tradition.
