Record-breaking 1,850 participants join Sepang International Circuit’s
‘Last Kopek Before Raya’ night session

SEPANG, 5 July 2016 – With just a few days to go before Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Sepang International Circuit (SIC) held its “Last Kopek Before Raya” night session at the circuit last Friday. A record-breaking 1,850 participants – the largest number of participants to join SIC’s motorsports-free sessions so far – took part in a healthy workout before the upcoming Raya festivities, which will undoubtedly be filled with get-togethers and open house visits among family and friends, complete with plenty of delicious food.

“In this final build-up to Aildilfitri, preparations are typically in full swing and can be hectic and even stressful. So, it is good to see everyone relaxing with their family and friends by keeping fit. Raya is also often when many may overindulge in their favourite traditional dishes and snacks, but do get back to your usual healthy lifestyle once the festive season is over. We’ll be organising more activities to encourage Malaysians to keep fit here at SIC, so we hope everyone will join us again. The SIC team would like to wish everyone a blessed Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Stay safe and enjoy the holidays,” said SIC Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Razlan Razali.

The night session, held from 9.00pm to 2.00am, saw members of the public of all ages participating with their family members, friends and colleagues. Participants came dressed in the recommended sports attire, complete with appropriate safety gear.

Sepang International Circuit has organised several Motorsports Free Morning sessions for the public since last year, with night sessions held during Ramadan, not just for the participants’ comfort, but also allowing ample time for buka puasa and terawih prayers. However, following tremendous support and positive feedback from the public to continue with more night sessions, SIC is looking at the possibility of making the night sessions a monthly activity. So, look out for announcements from SIC soon!
