SEPANG, 1 March 2016 – A final round of track inspections was held at Sepang International Circuit (SIC) last Friday ahead of the scheduled track resurfacing exercise required by motorsports governing bodies FIA and FIM for continued homologation of the racetrack in Sepang.

The traffic diversion and route to Paddock will take effect on 31st January 2016. Please refer to the attached file for guideline. The purpose of the changed existing traffic and route to Paddock is to avoid the risk of road accident at the junction of the Paddock Entry.

Sepang International Circuit (SIC) yesterday unveiled the 2016 calendar of events and ticket prices for the main international races that will be held at SIC this year, i.e. the Motul FIM World Superbike Championship 2016 (WSBK Malaysia 2016), 2016 Formula 1 Malaysia Grand Prix (2016 F1 Malaysia Grand Prix) and Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix 2016 (2016 Malaysia MotoGP). The launch was held in conjunction with the SIC Appreciation Night 2016 yesterday for partners, clients, agents, racing teams and riders, and the media.

SEPANG, 5 January 2016 – The last year has been one of ups and downs for the Sepang International Circuit (SIC). The year proved challenging for SIC, which saw the decline of F1 spectator numbers, lower than expected fan support for the WSBK due to the Hari Raya period and FOREX losses following the depreciation of the ringgit. The implementation of GST also impacted ticket sales when consumers cut down on spending for non-essentials. While the haze nearly disrupted the MotoGP, it turned out well in the end with a record-breaking crowd and a thrilling race. Another plus point for SIC was receiving the rAWr award.

SEPANG, 21 December 2015 - Sepang International Circuit (SIC) will be closing its racetrack for resurfacing and upgrading works from 15 February to 8 May 2016. This follows the last closure and track upgrading works in 2007. The works will involve the entire 5.54km of the world-class circuit, and is a mandatory requirement in ensuring that the Sepang track will continue to be homologated in the FIA and FIM as a Grade 1 and Grade A circuit respectively. The track resurfacing and upgrading scheduled for 2016 is based on requirements from FIA and FIM, to ensure that the circuit continues to meet international.

Klang Valley Triathlon Club (KVTC), a club registered with the Malaysian Sports Commission to develop multi sports in Malaysia, is delighted to introduce the inaugural Sepang International Circuit (SIC) Night Duathlon. This is a ground-breaking new race to be held in the first class setting of SIC’s facility on 7th November 2015.
