2019 CEV REPSOL CHAMPIONSHIP - Qualifying 1 & 2 - Circuito de Estoril

CEV Moto 2 #7 Muhamad Adam Mohd Norrodin

"I will start in P11 tomorrow. I'm really happy with my progress. I struggled a lot yesterday in practice. Anyway, I want to thank the team and all the mechanics who worked really hard in setting up my bike. I felt really comfortable compared to yesterday. Qualifying 1 was good as I felt the difference on bike setting. Unfortunately, my strategy is a bit off and I crashed in the mid of QP 1. It was totally my mistake. There's a lot of improvements that needed to be fixed by myself. It's better that I learned from my mistakes now rather than in the middle of the season. Nevertheless, I made great progress in Qualifying 2 and I was really happy with the results. I struggled a lot in practice and with the results I got today, it was all worth it. I will push hard in Race 1 & 2 tomorrow!"

Moto 3 Junior World Championship #24 Muhamad Izam Ikmal

"In QP 1 I was comfortable as it rained in the morning so I improved my lap time lap by lap. I tried to get myself in top 15 but unfortunately I made a mistake in the last corner. I need to improve my racing line because I'm a bit slow in sector 4. In QP 2 I felt really good at first but I crashed in the middle of the session. I returned to the pit and the team tried their best to fix the bike to get back on track. At the same time, I gone out to the track in the last 2 minutes but unfortunately the bike has technical problems and I crashed again in turn 1. I was not happy with my QP 2 but anyhow I will make sure I give 110% tomorrow in Race day."📷

Moto 3 Junior World Championship #78 Idilfitri Mahadi

"Today I felt good in QP 1 but I crashed in turn 2. Meanwhile in QP 2 I made a mistake for not being focused enough and not pushing myself to the limit as I was trying to keep my momentum. For Race day tomorrow I will keep my momentum, but be faster than today."Moto2 Qualifying (Combined) 1. EDGAR PONS RAMON, SPA, BAIKO RACING TEAM (1:54.440) 2. NIKI RIKHARD TUULI, FIN, TEAM STYLOBIKE (1:55.734) 3. KASMA DANIEL BIN KASMAYUDIN, MAS, DYNAVOLT INTACT SIC JUNIOR TEAM (1:55.754) 4. GERRY SALIM, INA, ASTRA HONDA RACING TEAM (1:55.992) 5. TOMMASO MARCON, ITA, TEAM CIATTI (1:56.241) 11. ADAM NORRODIN, MAS, SIC JUNIOR TEAM (1:56.778)

"In Moto2 today I am very pleased with Adam's progress. This is only the second time he's ridden this Moto2 bike in the rain. The team worked really hard to give the bike setting that he likes. He remained out for the full session and progress every lap. He got himself in the top 10 only to be knocked down to the 11th position so Adam has done a tremendous job as well as the team. In Moto3, over the past two days both riders have done a good job. Unfortunately, with the mix weather today. It caught Izam out on his first lap as he had a small crash. The crews worked really hard to get the bike ready and we had a small technical issue making Izam unable to complete the lap. I'm confident with the pace he's showing in the dry and the rain. For Idil, he just needs to keep riding as he's doing really well. If both riders can get to finish the race tomorrow, it certainly is a big progress from 12 months ago."Zulfahmi Khairuddin Team Manager
"This week in Estoril, the test went really well in both categories Moto2 and Moto3. I'm really happy with Adam, Izam and Idil for the practices. Today has been a really hard day for Izam and Idil on the Moto3 side because Izam crashed and Idil could not go fast in the half and half condition. Meanwhile, Adam was really impressive how he improved his lap time from earlier this morning up until the afternoon. He had a small crash in QP 1 but he came back stronger in the QP 2. I'm really happy with Adam's performance as well as the team did a great job on preparing the bikes. I look forward for tomorrow, we have a good plan for Adam. On the Moto3 side I just hope they will finish the race, gain experience and aim to collect points for the team."
