Orelac VerdNatura Racing left Jerez happy with the work they had carried out over the two days at the Spanish circuit. The team had worked hard over the winter, so there were lot of new things to try.
Fahmi Khairuddin was the fastest World Supersport rider, with a lap of 1:44.4, eight tenths of a second ahead of the next rider. His team mate, Nacho Calero, was not far behind, with a time of 1:45.5.

“I am very happy to be riding again and I am very happy with what we achieved during these two days. I know the team have worked very hard over the winter and it was good to get on the bike and find out how much the bike has improved from last year. These two days were also a test of myself and, in that area, I know that I can be better. Last season was the first for me in World Supersport and there were many things to learn. But here, the bike felt like mine right from the start of the test. I know how to manage the bike a lot better than last year and I feel very positive about the season ahead. I am very happy with the bike, the team and I am looking forward to the first race at the end of February.”

Nacho Calero 105 laps, best 1:45.5
“These two days have been not so bad. I had some suspension problems yesterday, with the rear sliding and the front pushing, but today the bike was much better and I was able to go into the corners much harder.
Here, in Jerez, we have a new spec engine and it feels crisper than last year, and this makes me happy. We were a new team last year, but we improved a lot throughout the season and now I looking forward to the first race.”

Giulio Bardi (Team Manager)
“It’s been a busy couple of days, but very productive. We worked hard over the winter so we had a lot of stuff to try. In some areas there are definite improvements and in some areas we know we have some more work to do.
But generally we were consistently fast over the two days and both riders have worked hard and done well. I am happy to keep the team as it was last year because it worked so well. I think we have a good, professional package and I am really looking forward to Phillip Island and seeing how we measure up against our rivals.”
