MALAYSIA CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES FINALE: CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES AWAIT

Friday, 6 September 2024 – The Malaysia Championship Series (MCS) is gearing up for an exciting climax this weekend at PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit (PETRONAS SIC) from Friday to Sunday, 6 - 9 September 2024. This round is expected to be a weekend of intense racing and dramatic battles on track with championship titles are still hotly contested.

The finale of the Championship will feature an impressive grid of 74 cars, competing across four classes battle, Malaysia Touring Car (M Production), Touring Production (T Production) Stock Production 1 (SP1) and Stock Production 2 (SP2). Fans will witness drivers pushing their limits in pursuit of the coveted championship titles, promising an action-packed races and thrilling moments throughout the weekend.

Nicholas Hah, Team Manager for HI-REV Dream Chaser commented, “The MCS 2024 has been incredibly competitive, featuring intense door-to-door racing, especially with top teams like Honda Malaysia Racing Team (HMRT) and Wing Hin Motorsport in their Toyota race machines. Our main rival, Car #27 from HRMT is just a few points behind as we head into the 300km finale. The new two-driver format has also brought in fresh talents, adding more excitement to the series.”

The debut of female drivers from Thailand is a historic milestone for the series, and the introduction of the new track limit system represents a major step forward in race integrity and safety. With participants from neighbouring countries such as Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Japan, and Hong Kong, the MCS has truly expanded its reach and impact”, added Azhan Shafriman Hanif, Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS SIC.

In addition to the headline MCS race, the event will host a total of 118 cars including support races such as the Thailand Super Series (TSS), F4 Australian Championship and Asia Classic Car Challenge (ACCC)/Caterham.

Fans eager to watch the live races can enjoy free entry to the Main Grandstand. For a closer look at the action and exclusive behind-the-scenes access, paddock entry tickets are available at RM100. This weekend, PETRONAS SIC is introducing the Time Attack Simulator Challenge open to the first 100 participants at Paddock Club 4. Participants will stand a chance to win two-tyre voucher from Hankook, worth RM1,760.00.
