AZROY TRIUMPHED IN INTENSE DUEL
Round 2 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP roared to life today at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, where Azroy Hakeem Anuar of HONDA RACING MALAYSIA claimed a thrilling victory in Race 1 of the MSBK1000 A category.

During this morning’s qualifying session, Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of HONG LEONG YAMAHA MALAYSIA topped the timesheets with a fastest lap of 2’06.516s. Muhd Helmi Azman, also of HONDA RACING MALAYSIA, was second quickest at 2'06.755s, followed by his teammate Azroy, who secured third with 2'06.941s.

As the race began, Kasma took an early lead, followed closely by Azroy and Helmi. By lap 2, Azroy clocked a top speed of 240.5km/h in his pursuit of Kasma.

On lap 6, Azroy set the fastest lap of the race with 2'07.017s and overtook Kasma for the lead. Helmi remained steady in third, while further back, Md Amir Izzat Rozali of HORIZON RACING TEAM closed in from fifth position alongside Adam Norrodin of AMI SUZUKI MOTORSPORT, who held fourth.

By lap 7, the leading trio had pulled an 8 second gap from the chasing group. On lap 8, Kasma retook the lead from Azroy, setting up an intense fight to the finish.

The drama peaked on the final lap, where Azroy executed a decisive move on the final turn to reclaim the lead from Kasma. Helmi followed closely behind in third, while Amir overtook Adam for fourth. Despite Kasma’s last ditch attempt to overtake, Azroy responded swiftly, powering ahead as both riders raced side by side to the finish line.

Azroy crossed the line first with a time of 21'20.752s, just 0.019s ahead of Kasma at 21'20.771s, with Helmi finishing third at 21'21.127s.

Azroy said, "Today’s weather was hot and the race was tough. I also experienced rear brake issues midway through, which slowed me down a bit. But with a few laps left, I just pushed through. In the last lap battle with Kasma, I honestly wasn’t sure if I could win, but I gave it a shot. Alhamdulillah, luck was on my side today. Tomorrow, we have Race 2, and I hope we can repeat today’s performance."

AFIF HELD OFF LATE CHALLENGE
The 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM MALAYSIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP kicked off Round 2 today at the iconic PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit with a thrilling Race 1 in the MSBK250 A category. In an exciting showdown, Ahmad Afif Amran of SUPERFAST JRT X RAPIDO clinched the win, securing a hard-fought victory.

Afif's impressive performance began in the qualifying session, where he clocked the fastest lap time of 2'24.969s, earning pole position. He was closely followed by his teammate, Md Akid Aziz, who secured second position with a time of 2'25.075s. Nguyen Huu Tri of HONDA RACING VIETNAM TEAM rounded out the top three with a time of 2'25.781s.

As the lights went out for the race, Afif and Akid both made strong starts, immediately establishing their positions at the front. However, Irfan Ardiansyah of MAEZTRO NWN SCK HONDA RACING was quick to challenge, keeping pace in third place.

The race was a nail-biting contest, with riders jostling for position over eight intense laps. After a strong start, Afif and Akid continued to battle at the front, with Irfan and Huu Tri not far behind.
On the final lap, Irfan showed remarkable pace, overtaking Afif in an attempt to snatch the win. But Afif went all out and raced past the finishing line to win in 19'40.458s.

Irfan finished second at 19'40.459s, and Akid finished third at 19'40.536s. However, Irfan was dropped by one position due to a track limit violation, which moved Akid up to second place, and Irfan was placed third.

Afif said, "In today’s race, I really tried to maintain a high race pace, but I wasn’t able to, perhaps because the track was too hot. So, I tried to stick to my strategy and attack in the last two laps. I already knew that Irfan would try to overtake on the final lap, so I just accepted it. But perhaps my bike had a slight advantage in the straight sections towards the finish line, and I was able to overtake Irfan at the very last moment."
