Sepang 1000KM Endurance Race (S1K)

Sepang 1000KM Endurance Race (S1K) is a successful spin-off from the Merdeka Millenium Endurance Race (MMER). S1K is a 4-wheel endurance race of 1,000km, around 172 laps which equates to nine hours of racing and it has already attracted entries from neighbouring countries such as Australia and Japan.

The race is promoted and organised by Sepang International Circuit (SIC), supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia (KBS), and sanctioned by Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM).  S1K is held annually and the finale of national championship races’ calendar, organised by SIC. The race started back in 2009 for production cars below 1600cc. The S1K was born for entries up to two classes of cars – M Production and S Production classes.

Legends like Keifli Othman, Faidzil Alang, Tengku Djan, Fariqe Hairuman, Leona Chin regularly participate in the race. This event is an initiative by SIC, that serves as a platform to unleash young and new talents as well as a platform to advance in their career or to a higher series of championships. Names like Mitchell Cheah, Hayden Haikal, Putera Adam and Naquib Azlan have showcased great skills and results in the race.

With the aim to continue the aspiration as the main motorsports hub in Southeast Asia region and the motorsports destination of choice, the event attracts international participation that helps spur the Country’s economy.
