7th November 2015- Klang Valley Triathlon Club (KVTC), a club registered with the Malaysian Sports Commission to develop multi sports in Malaysia, is delighted to introduce the inaugural Sepang International Circuit (SIC) Night Duathlon. This is a ground-breaking new race to be held in the first class setting of SIC’s facility on 7th November 2015.

In line with its aspiration to make the track accessible to the public, SIC welcomes this event. KVTC is confident this race will provide the perfect platform for SIC to continue growing the recreational use of its facility, ensuring that everyone from motorist to cyclist, duathlete to skater, has the chance to enjoy one of the country’s premium sporting facilities. The organisers are delighted that Khairy Jamaluddin, Malaysia’s Minister for Youth and Sports, will be gracing the occasion.
This event will be momentous, not only because participants can race where Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button have done before them; but also they will participate alongside another former world champion, Harry Wiltshire from Great Britain.

As a student in 2006, Harry earned his World Champion title when he won the Triathlon in the World Student Games. He regularly represented his country in Sprint and Olympic Distance Triathlons since 2002, but latterly has become an Ironman competitor, and in 2014 he qualified  31st for the Ironman World Championship in Kona Hawaii. In the lead-up to that event, he secured multiple top 5 and podium finishes in Ironman races across the globe.

Prior to the race, athletes will meet Harry Wiltshire alongside other current local heroes in the sport of Triathlon. Whether you’d like to gauge yourself against a former world champion, or have the first taste of Duathlon, this race is for you. The SIC Night Duathlon offers two race distances - a 5 km run, 22 km bike, 5 km run for the Sprint and a 2.5 km run, 11.0 km bike and 2.5 km run for the Youth (14-16 years old).
The fairly flat wide track provides for a fast and furious ride for the more experienced participants, whilst allowing newcomers a comfortable safe environment, albeit on a world class race track.

Entries to the SIC Night Duathlon are limited to just 200 total places, making this event an exclusive must-do race to round off the 2015 calendar. It’s time to get excited about SIC Night Duathlon! To register your participation, please visit http://kvtclub.wix.com/sic-duathlon
