The entourage arrived at the Sepang International Circuit at about 10am and taken on a tour of the Malaysian Formula One track by the SIC's tour leader, Arvin Randahwa.
Members of the entourage were taken to visit areas which are not open to the public such as the race control room, the podium and the Perdana Suite where all the VVIPs are entertained during the major motorsports events at SIC.
Finland Embassy's spokesperson, Anne Mutanen said members of the embassy had chosen to take a tour of the SIC as the Formula One is the most popular motorsports events in their home country.
Finland has been known for their talented drivers such as two-times Formula One World Champion Mika Häkkinen, 2007 Formula One World Driver's Champion Kimi Räikkönen and Lotus Racing team driver Heikki Kovalainen.
"We at the embassy feels that it would be very interesting for is to take a peek into the F1 world and to visit the place where it all happens, Even the ones in our group who previously hadn't been such big F1 fans got excited by getting the chance to visit such exclusive places and hear what goes on behind the scenes at the circuit during the races," said Mutanen.
"There is a lot more going on than meets the eye. I recommend a trip to Sepang to anyone interested in motor sports, and even to those who are not. Also, now that we have visited the track, I think next year during the Malysian F1 race, there just might be a couple of more Finnish flags in the audience," said Mutanen.
