Friday, 19 July 2024 – PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit (PETRONAS SIC) in collaboration with Empayar Pahlawan Sukan (EPS) proudly announce the debut of APEX Duathlon 2024, its first mass participation event of its kind, set to take place on 17 November 2024. This exciting initiative marks PETRONAS SIC’s commitment towards promoting inclusive fitness and active lifestyle in Malaysia.
“Our vision goes beyond motorsports. We aim to create an edutainment hub where sports, education, and entertainment converge, in line with our aspiration to make the track accessible to the public," said Azhan Shafriman Hanif, the Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS SIC.

Set against the iconic backdrop of Malaysia's premier motorsport facility, this event promises an unforgettable experience for seasoned pros, elite amateurs, and newcomers, with a challenging yet enjoyable course, combining running and cycling.
Dominic Ang Ding Xiong, the Director of EPS further added, “This event goes beyond mere competition; it celebrates endurance and sportsmanship. Whether you are an experienced athlete looking to push your limits or a newcomer eager to embrace the excitement of multisport racing, APEX Duathlon 2024 welcomes enthusiasts at every skill level. The APEX Duathlon 2024 anticipates over 1500 participants, offering appealing distances for both seasoned athletes and newcomers, the Sprint category (5km – 20km – 2.5km) and Challenge category (10km – 55km – 10km). A total of RM40,000 prize purse awaits with early bird tickets priced at RM220 and RM320, and participants can start securing their spot on 22 July 2024.
