Dato' Mokhzani bin Mahathir

Born in 1961 in Alor Setar, Kedah, is a qualified Petroleum Engineer. He pursued his tertiary education at the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma in the United States, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering.

He started working in 1987 as a Wellsite Operations Engineer with Sarawak Shell Berhad. He resigned in 1989 to pursue business opportunities in Kuala Lumpur. By investing in KL Stock Exchange listed Tongkah Holdings Berhad, he ventured into component manufacturing, oil & gas, finance and healthcare sectors. He held positions as Group Chief Executive Officer of Pantai Holdings Berhad (Healthcare), Chairman of THB Industries Berhad (Electronics) and Group Executive Chairman of Tongkah Holdings Berhad (Oil & Gas, Finance). A divestment exercise in 2001 saw him relinquish all positions and equity in the above companies.

Mokhzani was awarded the Darjah Setia DiRaja Kedah (DSDK) by His Majesty The Sultan of Kedah, for outstanding community work in the state of Kedah in 2001.

Presently his portfolio of investments include businesses in Information Technology, Oil & Gas, structural steel engineering and fabrication, automotive sector and property development. He leads Kencana Petroleum Berhad and the Kencana Group of companies and holds the franchise for Porsche automobiles in Malaysia. He is currently Chairman of the Sepang International Circuit Sdn Bhd, which hosts the FIA Formula One World Championship, and is a regular GT race car driver. With Jaseri Racing Team, he has been on the podium of the Merdeka Millennium 12-hour Endurance race in 2006, 2007 and 2008, winning the overall championship title of that race in 2007.

Mokhzani is also a keen squash player and has held the post of President of the Malaysian Squash Racquets Association and the Asian Squash Federation previously.

Mokhzani has participated in several tourism and motor sports forums in Malaysia and worldwide in Sepang International Circuit's efforts to promote Malaysia as a destination of choice for the sports tourists

He is married to Datin Mastisa Hani binti Mohamed and has five children.
