Felipe Massa handed Ferrari team mate Fernando Alonso a controversial victory in Sunday's German Grand Prix as the red team scored their second one-two of the season and the win they were under so much pressure to achieve before the summer break, beating Sebastian Vettel’s pole-winning Red Bull into third place.

Mark Webber offered the greatest response to all of Red Bull’s qualifying hoopla by dominating Sunday's British Grand Prix from the start, and rebuilding his lead after a safety-car period that allowed team mate Sebastian Vettel to get back in the game after a disastrous first corner had seen the German go off track after a light brush with McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton. The puncture that he sustained dropped him to the tail of the field.

Vettel leads Red Bull one-two at Sepang

Red Bull desperately needed a victory to get back into the world championship chase, and Sebastian Vettel delivered it in fine style in a dry Malaysian Grand Prix on Sunday. And to make things even better, Mark Webber brought the sister car home second.

Vettel snatched the lead at the start from his Australian team mate, and apart from a time when McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton ran second for a while before his tyre stop, they were never seriously challenged.

A heavy shower just before qualifying set the scene for a very jumbled grid for Sunday’s Malaysian Grand Prix, eliminating both Ferraris and, effectively, both McLarens in Q1. In the end it was Red Bull’s Mark Webber who went some way towards making amends for his incident-laden race in Australia by taking pole position by 1.3s from Mercedes GP’s Nico Rosberg, after the Q3 session had been delayed because of heavy rain.

Rain temporarily halts qualifying in Malaysia

A heavy rain shower at the Sepang International Circuit temporarily halted Saturday afternoon’s qualifying session for this weekend’s Malaysian Grand Prix. The race stewards brought out the red flags midway through Q3 as a storm passed over the Kuala Lumpur track, causing very difficult driving conditions on the circuit.

Final practice - Webber leads Red Bull fight back

Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel ganged up on Lewis Hamilton at the end of Saturday morning's final practice session in Sepang, and ended up sandwiching the McLaren driver in their Red Bulls. Webber recovered from Friday's engine failure to set the fastest time of 1m 33.542s, 0.017s quicker than Hamilton's 1m 33.559s. Vettel was 0.045s slower than his team mate, his 1m 33.587s leaving him third.
