SEPANG, June 18, 2010:  The balmy weather and overcast skies over the Sepang International Circuit proved to be a comfort for the SuperGT support race drivers as they took to the track during the free practice session this morning.

This year, Japan’s hottest and most happening racing series, the SuperGT International Series at the Sepang International Circuit will have four top class support races;  GT3 Asia Cup, GT4 Asia Cup, Toyota Yaris/Vios Sepang Challenge and Scirocco Cup China.

The paddock building was abuzz with activities as journalists and photographers from all across the world arrived at the Media Centre to provide coverage for the support races and SuperGT.

With only hours away from the qualifying rounds, the pit area was a hive of activities as the team crews was at work, setting up their equipment in preparation for the race this weekend.

Race fans will be able to watch the eco-conscious Scirocco Cup China having its first international race here after its debut in China last year.

The SuperGT International Series 2010 will be featuring 13 cars and 26 drivers battling for the championship title in the GT500 category, while 19 cars with 38 drivers will be competing in the GT300 category.

The GT3 Asia Cup will feature 16 drivers, racing in cars which include Porsche 997 Cup S, 997 GT3 and 996 Cup, Ferrari 360 and 430 Challenge, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Lamborghini Gallardo GT3, Lotus GT3, Mosler and Ginetta.

Meanwhile, GT4 Asia Cup will feature 12 drivers. The race is aimed at large-production cars with a lower power/weight ratio than GT3 and features models such as the Aston Martin N24 and GT4, Ford Mustang FR500 GT4, Maserati Trofeo, Lotus Exige, Nissan 350z BMW M3 among them.
