Racing fans are in for a treat of motor racing action at its best as the famous Macau Road Sports Challenge makes its debut at the Malaysian Super Series this weekend beginning tomorrow along with an equally popular Macau N2000 series.
Brought in by Motorsports Asia Limited, the two racing events had been incorporated in packed all-car event for Round 3 of the MSS; which would also feature two rounds of the GT3 Asia Series, the Asian Touring Car Series, the Classic Car Series as well as the second round of the MSS Supersixteen Championship, the Malaysian GT Class challenge and the Malaysian Touring Car Challenge (MTCC).
In making the competition more exciting for the competitors and fans, the MTCC races would run together with ATCC, which would feature top racing drivers from Hong Kong and Macau. The previous round saw a close contest for glory with Liu Lic Ka winning the opening race for Team IMSP; beating off Charles Ng to the checkered flag. The second race was won by Mak Ka Lok.
Double winner at the opening round of the Malaysian GT Class Challenge, Singaporean Mok Weng Sun would again be the man to beat this weekend. Malaysian Tunku Hammam Sulong and Sri Lankan Dilantha Malagamuwa would again pose the strongest threat to the two-time MSS Supercar champion.
In the MSS Supersixteen Championship, Malaysian Damien Dielenberg, who scored a double victory in the opening round of the championship, is expected to face stiffer competition this time round with the return of the missing top drivers for Round 1 including defending champion Boy Wong Yew Choong.
Boy, a four-time Supersixteen champion and winner of the Supersaloon title in 2007, missed the opening round to attend a relative’s wedding.
