Hundreds came to witness the second round of the “I Love F1” B-Boy dance crew audition at the Sunway College cafeteria on Monday 22 February.

While some are just there to see the moves performed by the dancers, some came to cheer on their friends who took up courage to audition in front of fellow students.

One of such “talented” dancer was 18-year-old Brian Soong who mesmerised the crowd with his dance moves.

According to Brian he learned the dance moves from surfing the net mainly from the popular website, Youtube.com.

“I’m so looking forward to the event, to perform in front of a bigger crowd than today,” said Brian after the audition.

The “I Love F1” B-Boy dance crew audition is part of this year’s F1 campaign to revive Malaysian’s passion towards motorsports and increasing awareness for this national agenda.

 

Part of that project is to recruit dancers to join the biggest B-Boy dancing group and to perform on the opening ceremony of the 2010 Formula 1 Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix.

Dancers came and tried their luck performing their own moves and a few choreographed dance moves in front of a panel of professional judges consisting of Malaysian rapper Saiful Nazwi or Poi of Phlowtron and flanked by two B-B-Boy dancers Zen (Zain Rani) and Lilo (Rizal Sandoso) with tunes spun by DJ Sashi of Vibe Records.

The audition at Sunway College was the second of six auditions planned till next month, the next audition will be in  Aswara on 27 February then the next one will be at the SMK(P) Sri Aman on March 1, Segi College on March 3 and “Kompleks Sukan” Bukit Kiara, March 6.

Among that will join and help the campaign are professional street dancers, Floor Fever and also and Joe Flizzow.
