CHILDREN’S PITWALK AT SEPANG INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT

03 April 2010, BY Sepang International Circuits
CHILDREN’S PITWALKIt was hard to tell who were the ones who were more excited at the Children’s Pit Walkabout session at the Sepang International Circuit here today; the children or their parents.

SIC’s first ever Children’s Pit Walkabout session  saw close to 3,000 children accompanied by their parents or guardians taking a closer look at the Formula One teams’ garage, while hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite drivers.

Among them were more than 300 underprivileged children from several orphanages. The Children’s Pit Walkabout session was part of SIC’s ongoing "Bringing Motorsports to Schools" campaign.

The session began at 5.30pm today and ended at 6.30pm. Quite a few lucky families were able to get to get a few snapshots with Malaysian Team Lotus Racing test driver, Fairuz Fauzy and Mejar Patricia Yapp, Malaysia’s sole female jet fighter pilot who arrived with the rest of the members of the Smokey Bandit  aerobatic team  from the Kuantan-based 17th RMAF squadron.
