The GT3 Asia Challenge starts its 2009 season at the Shanghai International Circuit, March 27-29.  Twenty of the top drivers in Asia will compete in the GT3 and GT4 race cars, from manufacturers Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Aston Martin.  

For the first time, the drivers will compete in the F1 circuit layout at Shanghai, so the lap times will be longer than previous events.  The Race 1 on Sunday morning will be the usual standing start 10 lap event. However, for Race 2 on Sunday afternoon, the race will be a rolling start, but the race distance lengthened to 15 laps.

This is the seventh year of GT racing in Asia and China, organized by Supercar Club Hong Kong Ltd. The new 2009 season will be organised by Motorsport Asia Ltd and join the Asian Festival of Speed series, with Sepang and Macau already confirmed as the venues, and the championship decided over 12 rounds.
